Bujak Mess ...Please Make It Stop!

The County is still battling Bujak issues and they have not won a single court case to date.  The cost of litigation in all of this has cost Canyon County Taxpayers an astounding $480,000!

THE GUARDIAN has to ask;  just what "THE COUNTY" expects to gain with all the court battles.?

It is time to put a stop to all this insanity and waste of taxpayer dollars.  Mr. Bujak has lost his job, gone bankrupt, has been publicly humiliated and the public whipping post via the courts continues.
It is way past time to put a stop to all this waste of time and taxpayer dollars.  Both sides need to declare victory and stop the bleeding.

Taxpayers need to let the Commissioners know enough is enough.  Here's the phone number to reach the Commishes if you want to be heard on this issue 454-7300.

Here's a link to the Idaho Press Tribune article in today's paper.

  1. The pattern that has emerged so far is John Bujak has not been found guilty of anything in any of the jury trials of his peers to date. It suggests to me we have a taxpayer sponsored effort to find even the most minor thing Bujak may have done wrong to save face of our two remaining Commissioners who started this legal mess. And then there is the lawsuit John has against the Commissioners for $20million looming on the horizon. We can all only wonder how much it will end up costing all of us if this goes to a jury trial.

  2. Since I first read of this arrangement I had to wonder how an elected official could use county facilities and employees to run what was essentially a private business and profit from it While perhaps technically legal,. I don't think this is what the intent of the law was and Mr. Bujak took advantage of this. Our county commissioners and city council and mayor also failed to exercise reasonable judgement when they signed of on it.

  3. Perhaps it is time to organize a recall election for the commissioners and for Bujak to run for the next open commissioner seats. In these recent legal battles Bujak has proven successful in law and politics even with the limited resources available to him and the courts limiting his defense, while at the same time the commissioners have proven themselves capable of personal bias and vindictiveness pursuing a cause that can only be described as an attempt to save face at a cost to taxpayers quickly approaching half a million dollars, which is only expected to increase with the pending falsification of evidence trial which appears to be nothing more than vindictive prosecution and frivolous. In the end ousting the commissioners and electing Bujak to one of the commissioner seats may be the only thing to spare the county from a judgment to pay Bujak in his reported 20 million dollar lawsuit against the commissioners.

At what point will the commissioners be held accountable and investigated for their actions in all of this? Perhaps investigations by the State Auditor’s Office and the State Attorney General’s Office are now in order.

    1. What possible good could come from more investigations? What we want is to stop the bleeding. My contact with county commissioners on this got back the answer that the prosicution of Bujac at this point were out of the commissioners hands--Yeah I know --go figure

  4. Wanting to stop the bleeding is fine to say when you’re not the one doing the bleeding and after the fact, when all of the bleeding has been at the expense of Mr. Bujak and the taxpayers, while at the same time the commissioners have not been investigated or held accountable for their actions and there has been no bleeding on their part. At least investigations at the state level would be at the expense of the state taxpayers as a whole and not just those from Canyon County and at the same time those investigations would also be out of the hands of the commissioners. Unbiased investigations that are out of arms length of the commissioners would be able to encompass on the entire picture and hopefully result in safeguards to prevent something similar from happening in the future.

  5. Isn't it interesting that the county commissioners have no control how our money is spent , the city council have no control how Urban Renewal money is spent, and the school district has no clue where our money is. seems like we are paying a lot of people a lot of money to not know much.

    2. C'mon now are the people going to be deceived and misled by the so called official media story of what happened to all that money being miscounted in the school district. I think that there is a skunk in the wood pile on that issue.

    3. It would be worth knowing if their was a fiduciary responsibility violated in any of the Nampa School District mess. So far I am underwhelmed by what has been allowed to go on with respect to Nampa School Dist. The closing of Sunnyridge School and the inherent lack of protection of this asset is worrisome as well. It if is vandalized they will no doubt come back and declare the school more costly to bring back and will want a new school.

It really is time to get rid of all the little school districts in this county and consolidate all of them under one supt. And get rid of all the administrative bloat.

  6. Bujak has spent the last two years being destroyed by the County. The County had more resources and the media helped to make Bujak out to be the villain. Despite that, juries have heard Bujak's side of the story and found him not guilty each time. That makes me think that Bujak was sacrificed in a political move by the commissioners. It's time to end this madness and move on. Stop wasting money!

    1. That man endured nothing more than what amounted to be a political witch hunt. Something is really stinking in our local and county governments. The people, along with others that have influence need to dig into it, and find out what it is.

  7. One commissioner replaced, two still remain. One voice cant stop the bleeding alone. Should of canned Rule too. Now you get what you elected. Don't expect Hansen to be able to stop it single handedly, he needs more hewlp in his corner.

  8. I think Tom Dale has more involvement than he is admitting to. If John gets off on this last charge, he will hopefully be free to let loose with all the intimate details.

  9. So, I am just a bit interested and curious as to all of the present lack of articles and media coverage as to Bujak and all of the rest of the sewerage and unethical conduct and scurrilous occurrences in the Canyon County Prosecutor's Office and other official and public offices and law enforcement offices in the local area.

    What gives??

    1. What gives? Is the simple statement that Mr. Bujak has not been found guilty of any crimes by any jury of his peers in any of the court actions to date. It portends that Mr. Bujak will may prevail in his tort claim against the County. The only question is just how much it will cost taxpayers when the jury reaches a decision.

  10. And, who all will end up with red faces and enormous quantities of poop on their faces, Paul?????

Might Bryan Taylor look more than just a bit misguided, conflicted, and ignorant??

And, what can be concluded about other of his staff, including Laugheed???

  11. I can tell you from first hand experience Bryan Taylor is far from ignorant. He may be an elected official but he is also the legal council for the County Commissioners. They are the ones who hold the power to end this mess.

  12. Check out this story in the IPT. This is getting ridiculous. Almost half a million spent going after Bujak and they continue to spend money on another criminal case coming up in September? Now the County wants to pay $100,000 to Bujak's creditors and Bujak still has his civil case against the County to go? How do we make this stop?

  13. Im voting for whoever will stand up against any of the current numbskulls in office. If that means literally voting for a democrat because the republicans cant put up an honest candidate that obeys the will of the people then so be it.

A public discourse on the issues of the day makes the world a better place.

We welcome comments but they will be moderated and edited if too long or do not have anything to do with the post.
Agree or disagree just do it without profanity or it won't get posted. Try to keep your comments to no more than 300 words. Too long and I will try to edit it down or simply delete the comment. The whole idea is to get people to read your comment. Don't use 10 words when one will do the job.

It's OK to have a difference of opinion but keep it civil. I have used the "delete" feature on myself at times.

The ANONYMOUS feature for comments seems to be the most user friendly. People have commented they have difficulty with the other methods of posting comments.
